Oil, linen on stretcher 70*100 cm
Kyiv 2025
There is an old saying in English: “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning”.
If the sunset is red and not cloudy, it'll be clear and windy, and if the sun is bright red at dawn, but will soon hide behind a cloud, it'll soon be gloomy.
The closer the Sun descends to the horizon, the thicker the layer of the atmosphere (water, dust particles, etc.) the sun’s rays must pass through, as a result they are scattered even more. Since red has the longest wavelength, it is the least susceptible to scattering, so our eye perceives this color of the sunset sky.
The painting is varnished and decorated with fasteners for hanging on the wall. The plot is elongated at the end, which allows you to not use a frame.
