Les Voiles de St.Tropez is one of the most significant events in the world of yachting and certainly the most beautiful of the Mediterranean regattas. Both ultra-modern and rare wooden yachts participate in it.
This year (2023) more than 300 boats arrived in the beautiful bay of Saint-Tropez at the end of September to take part in an incredible sailing event.
The founder of the regatta was Patrice de Colmont, director of the Club 55 beach club.
The story began in the fall of 1981 with an impromptu race between two small yachts. After plotting the regatta route on a car map, the two competitors raced to the finish line, which was across from Club 55, where a delicious lunch was already waiting for them. After the race, both teams celebrated and enjoyed themselves in the club restaurant when they were joined by a reporter from a local magazine who wrote an article about the St.Tropez regatta.
From this moment began the history of the regatta, filled with the spirit of adventure, which it has preserved until now!
