Observing plants, people gave them symbolic meaning. An important role was played by the color of the plant, which could radically change the meaning of the flower.
 
Example,
ordinary field poppy speaks of sweet dreams;
red - expresses great satisfaction;
a white flower hints at the hopelessness of romantic feelings,
and yellow means success and wealth.
