In Ukrainian mythology, poppies are  a symbol of the sun, the infinity of being and the transience of life, lush girlish beauty, will, pride, sleep, poison, a talisman 
Observing plants, people gave them symbolic meaning. The color of the plant played an important role, which could radically change the meaning of the flower. For example, the common field poppy speaks of sweet dreams; red - expresses great satisfaction; a white flower hints at the hopelessness of romantic feelings, and a yellow flower means success and wealth.
