Slobozhanshchyna is a historical region in the north-east of Ukraine, bordering Erephy.
This region was actively settled by Ukrainians in the 17th and 18th centuries, its name comes from the free settlements, whose residents were free for a long time and enjoyed various benefits. Various crafts and handicrafts were traditionally developed here, and a lively center of trade was formed.
The largest cities of the region are Kharkiv and Sumy.
